Armitage Alehouse

RESTAURANT · CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

A discreet custom audio system designed to disappear into the richly detailed interior of a modern Chicago alehouse.

Old-World Character, Carefully Preserved

Located at 1000 W. Armitage Ave. in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, Armitage Alehouse is Hogsalt Hospitality’s intimate take on an old-world British pub, blending Anglo-Indian influences with a dining room inspired by 1920s London.

Antique paintings, carved woodwork, leather seating and warm lighting give the restaurant a distinctive sense of place. Pineapple Audio designed and installed a custom sound system to complement that environment without introducing visible technology that would compete with the room’s carefully considered character.

THE DESIGN

Heard, Not Seen

At Armitage Alehouse, the objective was simple: guests should experience the sound without being distracted by the equipment producing it.

Custom Pineapple Audio speakers were discreetly integrated into the restaurant’s architecture and finishes, paired with Powersoft amplification and Xilica DSP. The result delivers rich, engaging sound throughout the room while allowing the speakers themselves to remain virtually hidden from view.

Feel the Vibe,

Not the Hardware

The finished system allows music to shape the atmosphere without adding visual clutter to the dining room. Guests may not immediately see where the sound is coming from, but its presence adds warmth, energy and character to the experience.
