A supercharged evolution of KOR Taipei’s signature gold sound system, engineered for a larger and more technically ambitious Shanghai setting.
From Taipei to Shanghai
Following the success of KOR Taipei, theLOOP brought its distinctive ultralounge concept to Shanghai’s Jing’an District, extending the brand’s mix of elevated nightlife, cocktails, design and hip-hop-forward music into a new international market.
The signature audio experience came with it. Pineapple Audio and VOID Acoustics expanded on the gold-chrome system developed for the original Taipei location, creating a larger installation that preserved KOR’s unmistakable visual identity while introducing a new level of engineering and system performance.
THE DESIGN
The KROME Concept, Supercharged
KOR Shanghai took the concept established in Taipei and pushed it further. Before construction was complete, the audio system was planned using acoustic-simulation technology and virtual-reality modeling to optimize coverage throughout the space.
The finished system combines gold-chrome VOID Acoustics loudspeakers with Xilica processing and networked audio distribution, delivering approximately 92,000 watts of potential power. Remote monitoring capabilities added another level of control, allowing the sophisticated system to be supported far beyond the walls of the venue itself.

A Signature Experience,
Reinterpreted
The finished system allowed KOR to retain the identity that made its Taipei location distinctive while adapting the experience to Shanghai.
Gold-chrome loudspeakers remain part of the visual language of the room, while the expanded system delivers the scale, detail and low-frequency impact needed for a larger international nightlife destination.
