KOR Taipei
ULTRALOUNGE · TAIPEI, TAIWAN
A one-of-a-kind chrome-gold VOID Acoustics system developed to make sound part of the visual identity of an award-winning Taipei ultralounge.
Where Sound Becomes Design
Opened in Taipei’s Da’an District in 2016, KOR was conceived by theLOOP as a sophisticated alternative to the traditional nightclub — an upscale, cocktail-driven lounge built around hip-hop, funk and soul rather than a conventional dance floor.
In a room defined by black, white and gold finishes, sculptural lighting and highly considered interior design, a standard nightclub sound system was never going to be enough. Pineapple Audio developed a custom audio solution with VOID Acoustics that turned the loudspeakers themselves into part of the experience, combining serious performance with a finish created specifically for the space.
THE DESIGN
The Original
KROME System
KOR became the home of the first chrome-finished VOID Acoustics system, a custom system developed exclusively for the Taipei venue and later known as KROME.
The signature loudspeakers were finished in reflective chrome gold to complement the interior, while additional components were carefully integrated throughout the room to preserve the architectural vision. The result brought high-output club performance and detailed sound into an environment where the audio system could be both technically powerful and visually intentional.

Setting a
New Standard
The finished system helped make audio one of KOR’s defining features, pairing the impact expected from a serious nightlife system with a level of visual customization rarely seen in a lounge environment.
Instead of asking the technology to disappear, KOR allowed it to become part of the room — giving guests an experience where music, cocktails and design all contribute to the same highly considered atmosphere.
