Monarch
NIGHTCLUB · SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA
An intimate underground sound system built to put DJs, dancers and music at the center of the experience.
Underground by Design
Since opening at 101 6th St. in San Francisco’s SoMa district, Monarch has paired two distinct nightlife experiences under one roof: an ornate upstairs cocktail lounge and an intimate basement club built around the dance floor.
Co-founded by Chris Smith of Om Records, the venue was created with music at its core. Pineapple Audio designed and installed the basement club’s VOID Acoustics system, giving the underground room the performance and character needed to host both local selectors and touring DJs.
THE DESIGN
Built Around the DJ
In Monarch’s basement, sound is not an accessory to the room — it is the reason the room works.
Pineapple Audio integrated VOID Acoustics loudspeakers with Powersoft amplification and Xilica processing to create a system focused on impact, clarity and an immersive connection between the DJ booth and dance floor. The intimate scale of the club allows the system to feel immediate and physical, putting guests close to both the music and the artist delivering it.
